Originally built in 1924, it was a favourite vacation spot for spoiled Austro – Hungarian aristocracy. The primary goal of the owners was to create a romantic and leisure atmosphere, a little paradise for lovers and gourmet travellers. After trying out its success on the heights of the well-know New York restaurant “Terrace in the Sky”, famous for its magnificent view over the Manhattan skyline, it was decided to present the city of Rab with a long-awaited gourmet and organic slow food restaurant with a garden terrace at the foot of another famous skyline, that of the Four Towers in the medieval city of Rab. Hotel’s restaurant San Marino, with it’s romantic atmosphere and unique menu, serves truly enjoyable meals: Mediterranean inspired delicacies from the island - aesthetically pleasing to the eye and pure pleasure for the body and soul.
